Houston-born Queen Bey is a best-selling recording artist and fierce pop-culture feminist icon. Having sold a whopping 170-plus million records worldwide solo and with her girl group Destiny's Child, she incorporates intersectional feminism into her stage performance and public persona, reframing the important legacy of black feminism for a new generation. Named the "most charitable celebrity of the year" by DoSomething.org in 2016, she donates her time, star power, and wealth to many worthy causes, such as her post-Hurricane Katrina Survivor Foundation and post-Hurricane Harvey work in Houston. Her Formation Scholars program supports young women pursuing degrees at select art schools and historically black colleges.
